Are you an experienced and engaging music practitioner? Do you enjoy working with groups of young people whilst inspiring and encouraging them to fulfil their potential?

The Saturday Music School at Leeds College of Music is part of the Junior Department at Leeds College of Music. We are looking for workshop leaders to deliver fun and interesting sessions to young musicians aged between 9 and 15.

These developing musicians attend LCoM on Saturday mornings and as part of their learning participate in workshops delivered by industry professionals. Workshops are an opportunity for the young musicians to gain practical skills and knowledge that they can apply in the music industry, for example; song writing, career pathways, improvisation and marketing.

This academic year, we want to expand their workshop offer and invite practitioners to design and facilitate creative and educational sessions. Leeds College of Music is committed to valuing diversity and promoting equality and inclusion and so welcome interest from individuals/artists from a diverse range of backgrounds who represent our student population and can act as positive role models for the students.

Workshop leaders would deliver a one hour session x 3 (for 3 different groups of pupils, groups of approximately 20 young musicians) for between one and three Saturday mornings. The fee is £125 for each morning, which covers 3 hours of workshop leading and planning time and this would be on a self employed basis. A student supervisor is present in all workshops.

If you are interested in working with us, please send a CV and a plan of the workshop you would like to deliver to sms@lcm.ac.uk.  Workshop participants should have an enhanced DBS check and be signed up to the update service.
