The conservatoire wishes to appoint a part-time Lecturer/Module Coordinator for the Business Leadership & Ethics - Professional Studies year 3 module beginning in September 2019.
This module is designed to orientate students from a range of different pathways to understand how to manage and lead teams of people in their musical and creative endeavours.  Students explore leadership models, theories of people management and ethical working practices applying them to their own career development and future scenarios where they will be working with artists and the relevant range of professional roles in the industry.
Ideally, applicants will have experience of working in the music industry and be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of contemporary music business working practices. They will be able to communicate key concepts effectively, provide inspiring delivery and understand different access routes to developing a career in the music industry.
The role involves module coordination responsibilities. It is expected that the successful candidate will deliver all the teaching for the module. Applicants should be mindful of the diversity of the cohort in terms of musical specialism and experience. Assessment and marking are a key aspect of delivery on all modules.
As an optional choice for 3rd year students the size of the cohort can vary each year. Typically, we would expect between 20 – 40 students, divided between 2/3 classes. Subsequently this role constitutes between 4 – 6 hours per week, which will be confirmed by the programme leader when final enrollment has taken place.
